Refrigeration and air conditioning
What they do:
Refrigeration and air conditioning technicians design, install, commission, maintain, and repair cooling, air conditioning, and ventilation systems, as well as heat pumps and heat recovery systems.
They work across a wide range of sectors, including industry, hospitality, commerce, transport, and public and private buildings. Tasks include assembling refrigerant pipelines, installing insulation, and connecting electrical and control systems.
The role also involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing electrical and mechanical components to ensure safe and efficient system performance.
Work is carried out in accordance with national and European regulations, with a strong focus on safety, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating tasks, monitoring time and materials, and documenting completed work.
Activities are performed independently or in teams and include final testing and quality assurance of installed systems.
